My Tribute to John Ronald Ruel Tolkien

J.K Rowling vs. J.R.R. Tolkien

Who wins my heart?

J.R.R. Tolkien

The whole Harry Potter thing is a great piece of work. The plot is genious and the whole idea of magic is amazing. The characters are colorful and described with vigor. I loved reading this book and recomend it to all who ask my opinion.

HHHowever....

J.K. Rowling is simply not another J.R.R Tolkien. He was an artist with his work. John Ronald created another world, set an example of all mythical creatures, and with these things he made a intriquetly designed work of art that would be marveled al throughout the world.

I read his biography and even from an academic point of view, he was a genious. Only God knows what went on his head. At times, I long to know what his thoughts were about. Were they about the real world or HIS world? I suppose we will never know.

His work was beautiful and delicious to read. As the words dance before my eyes, I jump in between the lines and become part of the story.

Anyway, that is my tribute to J.R.R. Tolkien.

yea ummm...

This is pretty much my life right now.

Every day I walk through the halls of DSMS, stroll into classes, laugh with friends, and await the life ahead of me.

Random list of things

1. I love singing. Period. I would LOVE to make a cd in the future.
2. I love writing. "My book" is hopefully in the future.
3. I love teaching.

I have a certain pull to getting out in the world and sharing Jesus. But all I can do is wait.

Don't get me wrong! I'm loving life right now and I'm having a lot of fun. But that's just something at the back of my mind.

School

yeah... I'm a big eighth grader now!! I'd like to tell you about school so you know what I'm up to.
GENERAL DAY:
6:20- alarm goes off
6:30- shower get dressed, ect.
7:15-breakfast and last minute touches on homework
7:30-get picked up
8:00- school starts
3:10-school ends
3:30-tennis
5:30-arrive home
7:00-dinner (or orchestra in tucson)
10:00-bedtime for bonzo (or drive home from Tucson)

OUr school runs on block schedule so I have an a-day and a b-day. On a- days I have Ms. Guevara, Ms. Siordia, Mr. Sanchez, and Ms. Noon (X-P). Ms. Guevara teaches Socil Studies. We have class discussions about our world today, yesterday, and how it will shrink in the future. MS. Siordia teaches Algebra 1. It is going slow because of students that did not take Pre-Algebra last year. It is good practice for my patience. Spanish is taught by Mr. Sanchez and taught well. This class is not only really helpful to my Spanish, but is incredibly fun. We are laughing almost all period and learning as we do it. Last Period on a-days is Mariachi with Mr. Valez. I know it says Ms. Noon up there but thankfully Mr. Valez comes in half way through the class and takes over.

On b-days, i begin my day with Ms. Noon for Symphonic band. She thinks we are elementry school kids with no musical ability and is not liked by any of the kids. But anyway, I am drum major in that class, so its not completly horrible. Mr. Villaseñor teaches Science. We are learning about cells and the structure of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. Third period is English woth Ms. Urman. THis is my favorite class. We just finished studying the legend of King Arthur. I wrote a fairy tale, did comprehension, drew a coat of arms, ect. I finish the day off being an aid for Ms. Guevara.

School overall is going well. Keep me in your prayers. I hope all of you are doing well and I'm praying for YOU!!

Please excuse any mistakes I did not get a chance to revise. =(

Finally a Post!!!!

And a big fat juicy one too! I have fallen a little behind in the blog area. Mostly it was because I went on vacation for 3 weeks and then started school. :-P Well now I have my long promised blog about Ticul and Michigan.

On July 14th or 15th a group of 17 people departed from Manantial de Vida full of excitement and apprehension for the upcoming weeks. I was on of those fortunate 17 and the youngest of all of them. I can’t find words to express how much of a blessing this experience was. As we got to know the people there we felt the connection as brothers and sisters in Christ. That sounds sappy, I know, but it was just so great to be there and work on the church together. Mixing cement is a great workout by the way. :-D We also grew together as a group so much. The bond between us all multiplied, tenfold (or more). Later on I will post some pictures. I can’t right now because the computer’s not working. ☹
Three days after this absolutely exhilarating and heart filling trip, I took another grrrreat trip to Michigan. This trip was a breath of fresh air. It was absolutely relaxing and just wonderful. It was marvelous to see my family up there and see how everybody's doing. I spent two days with my mother at the cottage. We just chilled, swam, and I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It was great. I think Rowling had a finished of a superb story and intricate mystery strongly and I absolutely loved it. When I am positive that everyone interested has read it, I will explain in greater detail. Anyway my mom and I had a fantastic time cooking. We made delightful little delicacies to eat for each other. Mmmm. Uncle Tom, Aunt Sheryl, and Erin came down to their cottage, too. We had a lot of fun with them as well. A blast, in fact!
The third day, (I think) Jane and my dad arrived. Having finished my book, I was excited and ready for action. We tubed ad skied and whipped around all day. The next day Auntie Lou, Uncle Buck, James, and Molly arrived at our little cabin. Molly learned how to tube and even got flipped off. James also learned and got flipped off. And Auntie Lou was used as a pawn to knock Uncle Buck off his tube. Playing games like sequence, sevinpold, and apples to apples was blast, as well! Many laughs, many laughs :-D
The next few days were spent in Ann Arbor chillin' with family. Thanks everyone for making my trip grrreat!

School has started and I'm back in the swing of things again. I have good teachers great classes and I'm happy to see my friends again. Any questions... feel free to ask!

Takitos

Hey! Q ondas hermanitos, papis, y amigos!!! Well we´re finishing up our trip here in Ticul. I am sitting in a cafe internet writing a blog right now. This trip is absolutley great so far. We have had many laughs and even a few tears. The people in the church are dears and the whole experience has been a work of God. Jane, for your information, we had the most delicious tacos al pastor last night. But these are the original pork with cilantro, cebolla, and a slice of piña on top tacos. THe salcita runs down your chin. :-) For those of you who don´t know.... Pork soaked in a delicious salsa with many spices and slowly cookes on a spinning stick. mmmmmmm....

Well my time has run out and I must now depart for the plaza to buy you gifts :-)

Vacation Bible School

Over the course of the next 4-5 days, I will be helping out with the vacation Bible school at Manantial de Vida. The whole thing is called "Hecho a Mano" and is about how our lives are a lump of clay which God forms bit by bit. Until, finally it becomes a pot that is useful for God. All the stories are centered around peter and how Jesus formed his life.

I will be helping in many activities. I will be dancing in front of the kids with Marina, in the skits as a parrot, and will be helping teach the youngest group. I would like to ask you guys to pray for me, because I feel reallly good about this upcoming experience. Oh and you don't have to worry... I am going to take plenty of pictures *<:0) that's a clown

I was wrong

I have been sitting in this house for 2 and a half hours wandering around.... I feel horrible... My book is at somebody else's house, reading another book was a failed attempt, I can only play music for so long, and TV sounds too boring to endeavour. David I understand what you mean now...

Aprendí a bailar quebradita :-).

A Stressful Weekend

The Caroline from Saturday morning is a totally different person than the Caroline now. On Thursday, I was extremely excited for the weekend. We were going to have a Missionary Workshop, see Pirates Three, and I was finally out of school. On Saturday Morning we went to La Unidad to have an example of missions and then we returned. After a few classes in the church, our pastor informed us that the night before a certain friend had had a seizure and died in her bed. Cristina Vilchis was 17, in perfect health the day before, and was involved in many Church activities. The shock was so great; many people just stared into the air for a long time, while others screamed out crying. After our tears, however, we realized how great God really is. She had been struggling for a long time spiritually, and about a month ago had finally made a firm decision to follow the Lord. It was almost as if God was waiting and then took her. Anyway, on Saturday we went to see the family, on Sunday we went to the funeral, and yesterday we went to the burial.

When I returned, I realized that the time I had with H was precious, and tried my best to be the most cheerful I could be. We swam and had hamburgers. It was fun, except for the fact that David and Adrienne left before letting me say good-bye.

After they left, my friends Hannah, Sarah, Manuel, and Alexis went to the movies with me. As you can imagine, I was the outsider and a seat away from everyone else watching the movie determinedly. The rest were giggling and flirting with Manuel the entire time. I loved the movie, however, and enjoyed it a great deal. Hannah came home with me and my parents suggested her sleeping over. I'm serious; I was on the verge of tears jeje.... However, she left eventually and I slept well.

At least, I slept well half of the night... I woke up in the middle of the night and threw up. I am now sitting on the couch with a HUGE stomachache, unable to exercise or eat.

But God gave me strength, and I thank him every moment for what he has done, because all of this has made me a better person.

Another Request

I would like to know whether you like moonshine or sunshine better and why.

I love moonshine. I think it makes shadows come to life and clothes the trees in silvery, sweet showers of beauy. It is so entrancing and full of mystery. Do not get me wrong! I love sunshine, as well, but I prefer moonshine.

On Books

I have an extraordinary reaction to books. No matter which one it is, I seem to be engulfed in the story. Somehow, I leap beyond, the words and am the story. I am dancing with Mr. Darcy, listening to Judy's tales, or waiting in apprehension as Meggie reads aloud. Instead of just reading it, I live it. I become the characters and when I am snapped back into the real world everything is still fresh in my mind. Even when I read some passages of the Bible, I live it in my heart, not only see it. I have even had ocasions when I can almost taste the delicious foods on the dinner table.

Now, what i want to know is, Does this happen to you? Do you love reading books so much that you seem to be part of the ink tat covers the page? I want to know...

Mariachi

Last week I attended a Mariachi Conference in Tucson, AZ. It was a fun experience. I bonded with friends and learned some really great music. It was interesting because I was finally able to be in the world but not of it. I also got to sing a song called "Amor de los Dos". We all (Samantha, Erika, chris, Kim, Hector, Marysol, Juan, Pancho, and Zaida) had a memorable time. It was exceptionally funny when Sam tried to smell through french fries, hear with straws, and later drink a frosty with a straw through her nose. :) On the second day, we had lunch in a grass area. After eating pizza, we learned to dance ranchera style, ballroom style, soaked Mr. Cochrand, and had an imitation cow contest. The ride home was very sad, beacause that was the last time our Mariachi would ever take a trip.

I also learned a lot of really great music. We played "Las Mañanitas", "No Volvere", "Tu y las Nubes", "Amor de los Dos", "En tu Dia", and "El Tranchete". Some of it was difficult, but most of it was very simple and elementary. I was forced to sing some songs with some friends and one alone. I was sweating bullets, but I think it turned out okay. All in all it was a great trip and I would definitely go on it again.

Mixed thoughts

Easter was beautiful and one of the best I've ever had!!

This Sunday was one of the greatest days I've ever had. It was so refreshing to have another one of our "summer days". Everyone arrived at our house and the guys that were brave enough jumped in, pulling Marina in with them (i had already gotten in). We then spent the rest of the afternoon playing sports, watching movies, playing on the computer, making hot chocolate, and playing twister. We also called Mark to wish him a happy birthday and Orlando, Saul, and Manuel(e) attempted a game of Barbies.

I want to refresh your minds of your Middle School Memories. A poem read by ALMOST all seventh grade girls.

An Entrapment

My love, I have tried with all my being
to grasp a form comparable to thine own,
but nothing seems worthy;

I know now why Shakespeare could not
compare his love to a summer’s day.
It would be a crime to denounce the beauty
of such a creature as thee,
to simply cast away the precision
God had placed in forging you.

Each facet of your being
whether it physical or spiritual
is an ensnarement
from which there is no release.
But I do not wish release.
I wish to stay entrapped forever.
With you for all eternity.
Our hearts, always as one.

Now, this may seem touching. But remember, these are 12, 13, and 14 year old girls. I seriously think they have boyfriends to put his initials on their hands and faces. Every time I hear about another "couple" I turn my head in shame. But I guess that's just middle school... =)

For Steven

I don't have as many options as you guys, but I have still had a lot of really awesome days:

- Sunday with navigators and youth group
- Christmas Eve 2006
- Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point) with the youth group
- My Kindergarden Graduation
- Magic Mountain with dad, Uncle Doug, and Lauren

Do you want explanations??????

Just Checking

Today I went to a spaceship shop and decided to get the model T instead of Ght. The GHT will last longer, but I don't have that much cash. Besides, the only places I ever visit are Gilbatron and its moons. Do you think I made an accurate decision? I'm doubting it a little.

After that I went shopping with Mom. We bought monkey eyes, Pig stomach, rat droppings, and fish barf. We made a delicious souflee with those ingredients. It kinda oozed a little in your mounth and smelled horrendous but it had a lot of protein.

Right now i'm in the middle of the jungle trying to fight off the watermelon monkies......

Jajajajajaja! I'm just checking to see if anyone reads my blog..... =)

Today Jane returned to Chicago. I pity her freezing up there while I'm swimming regularly!!! jejeje =)

Enviame a mi." Empezo a llora. ¡Enviame a mi!". Tambien hice otra promesa.

Saturday

As we traveled through Nogales, Sonora this evening, I couldn't help thinking of all the lost people in this world and what their purpose in life is. Without Jesus they have absolutley nothing on the other side of life. What is the purpose in living, if I'm just going to die? What is the purpose in loving if it is all going to end in one hundred years? It's horrifying to think that these questions go through their heads almost every single day. I want the chance to introduce them to a God that gives them purpose and love. Then, I realized that I do have that chance. Every day is an opportunity to share the wonderful grace and love of Jesus to the people of the world. Just a thought...
This upcoming week, I will be having my Spring Break and am dreading it more and more. Why? Simply because I am going to be spending my time exactly how I don't want to. I will be going to Disneyland with the band, then attending an camp at Rancho Betania. it sounds like fun, but I would rather just relax. =)
Do you want to see some pictures? ok... Just kidding.... I can't figure it out.

My Adolescent Life =)

Hey 'yall! This is my new blog, guys! Although it might be pretty boring, i hope you'll read it all the same! This will be about me, Me, and ME! Hehe... I just got back from a trip with the navigator group. This week I spent most of my time with them and our youth group. It was wonderful to see them bonding together, but heartbreaking to see them say goodbye. I am extremely excited because Julie and jane haved promised to come and encourage the female part of the youth group. As you guys know, the ratio of males to females is about 10 to 1. it should be better to have a few more girls to chill with. =)

I just want to warn you that many of these blogs will be in Spanish! I need to practice for next year.
